The Harmony Singers of
Pittsburgh will join with six other choirs from
around the country to perform Robert Ray’s Gospel
Mass under the direction of Kevin McBeth from
the St. Louis Symphony at Carnegie Hall in New York
City on November 13, 2011 at 2 PM. The program will
feature other selections by Mack Wilberg: “Bound for
the Promised Land”, “Gloria in Excelsis Deo,”
“Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”, and “The First
Nowell”. Guest conductors for the concert are Andy
Waggoner and Kevin Bogan. The New England Symphonic
Ensemble will accompany the performance. The other
choirs include OSCD-Grossmont College Gospel Choir,
El Cajon, CA, ESCU Concert Chorale, Willimantic, CT,
UM Church of the Resurrection Choir, Overland, KS,
Manchester United Methodist Chancel Choir, MO, and
the Collinsville Chorale, St. Louis, MO. This is
the second time that the Harmony Singers have been
invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.
The Harmony Singers of
Pittsburgh, under the direction of Cynthia Pratt, is
a volunteer choir from the South Hills. They are
celebrating their 46th season of singing
and dancing. Their annual holiday show will take
place on December 9 at 7:30 PM at the Brightwood
Christian Church, 5044 West Library Avenue, Bethel
Park.
